The new Parking Revolution

It is time to announce our latest development news: the new Parking Revolution control panel has been finished. The new panel allows you to manage your domains even more easily, with a much better and clean interface. This is the result of many customers suggestions and ideas, as well a deep user experience study made by our developers. We are still open for suggestions, and most importantly, bug reports. All your parked domains… 250% faster!

We finally finished developing a new caching system for Parking Revolution. Accordingly to our tests, your domains should be loading and displaying content 250% faster by now. However, this is still in beta and we are waiting for the customers feedback in order to improve the system and fix any bugs that you guys might find.

Alternatives and additional ways of monetizing your domains

Adsense and eBay Partner Network are the most used “combo” by Parking Revolution customers. However, they are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many other advertising and affiliate programs available on the internet, as well different ways of monetizing your domain. Using those solutions along with Parking Revolution is the perfect recipe for making money through your domains and maximizing your revenue.

Parking Revolution, differently from other parking services, allows you to integrate your parked domains with virtually any advertising/affiliate program available. By using header/meta/footer includes and top/bottom/sidebar banner includes, you can build an excellent advertising scheme. And there’s also the widget creation system, that can be used for example, with Vizu Power Polls.

Monetizing your traffic and content

Vizu Power Polls: This is a great service for any kind of website. Basically, you’re paid to insert polls on your website. It’s a great deal because… people love polls. You’re adding a great feature and earning money from it.

LinkXL: Text link ads are working very well on the web. They are simple, easy to integrate and drive very good money to us. LinkXL is a pretty good approach to this market and it’s widely used.

Text Link Ads: Not so good as LinkXL, in my honest opinion, but they pretty much introduced the concept of ads in form of text links. If you prefer, stick to the “original”.

SmartLinks: I never tested this one, but i heard pretty good reviews of it and their premise sounds great.

WidgetBucks: I found out about WidgetBucks a few weeks ago and i’m pretty excited about it. Presenting ads to visitors in different forms is one of the best techniques.

General programs

Chitika: Chitika always was an great alternative to adsense. They pay well and break the common mold of web advertising.

YPN: Yahoo! Publisher Network is the alternative to Adsense. I’m a fan of their program and there is no way of describing them neutrally.

BidVertiser: I never tested BidVertiser, but they sound like a pretty good alternative to Adsense. And PayPal payments, for the happiness of everyone.

Amazon: Amazon’s affiliate program is one of the best available on the web. And it’s new system is completely amazing. You have an wide array of interesting features, which are not only monetizing features, they are really interesting for visitors. And the best part: integration is one click away with nice little javascript codes. How about mixing eBay and Amazon or having some books/dvd’s on the website sidebar?

Shopzilla: I have to admit that i never tested this one. But, some customers told me that Shopzilla is one hell of an affiliate program and works great with PR. Maybe it’s worth trying.

Need a small taste of Parking Revolution?

Many people requested a small demo, where they could see how their domains would look like when parked with Parking Revolution. Having you as our top priority, we developed the Quick Demonstration, a very simple tool that allows non-customers to see how their domains would work on PR, with a chosen keyword.

Of course, this is not the real thing. There is no customization at all, and most of the features presented to you during the parking process were removed. This is just a quickie. =)

More new features, bug fixes and… new templates!

After a few weeks, we are ready to announce and launch the newest update to Parking Revolution. This time, we added new features, fixed a few bugs reported by customers and added 7 new templates. Again, i would like to thank all customers that took some time to write for us and tell what they wanted to see and what wasn’t working. High five, guys.

The new features are:

• Ability to specify the content of the homepage (instead of the default content, you can for example, display the products page as the homepage)
• Now you can preview the templates before using them
• Custom content option for the homepage
• Social bookmarking feature updated
• Flickr integration updated
• Several performance tweaks and DNS-related optimizations

There are also many bug fixes. And don’t forget about the 7 new templates. Enjoy!

Bug reports and fixes

I just finished fixing some bugs that have been reported by customers. Problems with the custom item creation feature have been fixed and i ended up improving it a little bit. Also, problems with the Google Analytics integration have been solved.

The Analytics integration has changed a little bit: instead of pasting the whole code, you just need to insert the tracking ID (eg.: UA-1234567-8). A little problem with the Revolution template has also been fixed. Thanks to Brian, Karen and Alexander for the bug reports. Feel free to contact us if you have any idea, suggestion or bug report.

New feature: create pages for only one domain

As requested by our customers, we have added this feature. Now, you’re able to create pages that are displayed only in one domain, instead of showing in all of them (global). Pretty useful for custom content addition and more advertising options.

New features announced

Yesterday we have officially announced the new features of Parking Revolution at the NamePros forum. The new features are, mostly, suggestions made by customers. We are always listening to our customers and we care about their needs. That’s what makes Parking Revolution so unique. Below, you can see the list of new features:

• Widget creation system, that allows you to create sidebar widgets for all parked domains. This is extremely useful for creating additional advertising spots, sponsoring content, sharing links or even creating simple blogrolls.
• Now there are three types of customization includes: Header, Meta and Footer. Header includes will be added right after the <body> tag, Meta includes will be added between the <head> tags and Footer includes will be added right before the closing </body> tag.
• Individual customization includes are now possible. This means that, along with the global Header, Meta and Footer includes, you can add such includes for specific domains.
• Individual banner includes are now possible. This means that, instead of using the global banner includes, one of your domains can use specific includes.
• Advanced Flickr integration in the “Photos” module now allows you to display: Pictures from your Flickr Account, Favorites from your Flickr Account and Pictures from your Flickr Group.
• Social bookmarking icons can now be displayed on each content item (disabled by default).
• If you feel that the default content being displayed by Parking Revolution isn’t very relevant to your domain subject, you can display content imported from a RSS feed.

There are also many performance tweaks and bug fixes, mentioned below:

• Google Analytics integration now works perfectly
• Performance tweaks on the entire system
• Better cache for parked domains (means they will load faster)
• Optimizations and minor bug fixes in the RSS Merging tool
